Jaz-Cat
ParticipantJaz-Cat is back but facing himself in this one
POETRY VS RAP 2
[Poetry]:
So we meet, I realised what Jaz said about us/
Fabrications under cracked glass, we mounted/
Wrinkles on autumn leaves with properties/
Perfect words shed on paper, it’s not robbery/
How can I leave it resolved? I paved the way for you/
Yet you gradually derailed to ways that’s not comforting/
Have to leave a lesson on you as my counterpart/
Saw you protesting in the first place that’s out of yards/
The tip of every pen died sharing tales of lore/
Age came to the strings of uniforms tailors wore/
Historically chronographed to the gift-stricken/
Times fly when women kneaded the bread bit thicken/
The way I see rap tries to get back to the old form/
Feathers of the skies gather to create the whole storm/
That’s all on you, bad vibes you have painted/
My heart breaks for the gifted, for rap is tainted[Rap]:
Yeah we meet again, blame your leaving days/
Pickin’ yo’ hate on me? Damn we beef again/
We started with the protests against politics/
You was chained up and tripped by solid tricks/
Whiskin’ da emotions within, that’s reality/
You watched us bruised up by cop brutality/
Feelin’ safe, ain’t you? I wear scars wit rage/
Def you birthed me, I bear jars being caged/
How the voices turned crowds into expression/
Lick yo’ wounds if you understand the next question/
Why da hell you left us in this forsaken lane?/
Times have changed, evolution awakened shame/
Few of them rappers kept true, Poetry wake up!/
You supposed to guide me back, seen those haters/
Let’s see what you have to say outta that old chest/
I draw my line on grains, let’s see who’s the best[Poetry]:
Holographic steps I enlighten are too expensive/
For those hands laid on, nothing about you uplifting/
Scribbled words distort your story to the twisted/
Polish the rhymes to educate the witnessed/
I have seen how Jaz-Cat mended us into one/
Made us to be important, why have you run?/
I’m about to give my hand, embracing your form/
Saw the real rappers who wrote poems adjourned/
How their verses impacted the deep readers/
On topics that changed visions like reap seekers/
Those different forms of rap and poetry in this world/
My wish for real rappers is showing gems to y’all/
No matter where pens lead, we have to protect them/
I hope Jaz-Cat and the likes can make rappers respect them/
Their blood on paper told stories of a writer/
Let’s listen what you have to say, ignoring the cited[Rap]:
Fo’ real I ain’t trippin’ but this time, I seen you/
Sometimes you don’t know what we been through/
Some you was wrong and some you was right/
Most of da time you saw Jaz-Cat in that fight/
Against politics with revolution and activism/
He wanted poets and rappers create da rhythm/
No hatred but healthy battles to uplift together/
My bad if some rappers took it like a wrong feather/
Christian old-school cat is who Jaz-Cat always been/
Kickin’ vibes is what we do, left hallways clean/
A’ight let’s embrace for the sake of real rappers/
Fo’ da words they about to unleash, they sealed papers/
Rollin’ ice on da wrist, Knight Rider crashin’ turfs/
Killin’ da mics on stage, we gon’ be smashin’ orbs/
Jaz-Cat, go do your best at what you do/
We are puttin’ our blessings, go what you do![Jaz-Cat]:
Yo! I’m back! Fo’ old-school, we still here/
Since da 80’s, I’m jottin’ bars, you ain’t here/
I’m known as da Revolutionary Cat/
Vibin’ in da streets, step as you was carried back/
Poetry is made to express soul and knowledge/
Young hopefuls study harder to rent college/
Ink is meant to change the self-conscious/
Rebels and loyals, how you can tell on this?/
My OG wisdom, you never gon’ be a prince/
‘Cause some seen the same, some seen the difference/
“Flowers open they curtains, life is never free/
Sold chains to the bees fo’ us to sip wit tea”/
Remember that? That’s real life poetry I jot wit/
Rap was overlooked as the slums where you shot wit/
‘Cause of da 90’s filled wit real gangstas/
Some conscious MC’s around, you seen bangers/
Like Ice Cube, Ice-T, RIP to Eazy-E/
LL Cool J, RUN-DMC from da 80’s, pleasin’ G/
Jaz-Cat still kickin’ da real old-school/
From da 70’s, Sugarhill Gang, kid you’s da whole fool/
Common spittin’ that flow, he’s similar like me/
Christian and bangin’ revolution fo’ the surviving/
Queens like MC Lyte, Queen Latifah and Left Eye/
Respect to Rapsody for keepin’ it real, no step rhymes/
Rap is a musical expression and message to the audience/
Like I been jottin’ revolution wit my life, it’s obvious/
Grandmaster Flash kicked The Message, kids ain’t heard it/
Learn to respect poetry and rap with everything, ain’t cursive/
I’m about to end this, Poetry and Rap is family/
Sometimes they drift apart but never seen as enemies/
I’ma bounce…
Knees in ’em thorns, da pain through mine/
Pray wit Jesus fo’ da faith through timeOld-school!
